I’m flattered that so many people decide to call me first when they are doing their due diligence researching “matchmaking” services. Let me start by saying that they all call themselves “matchmaking” services when in reality they are merely DATING services. DATING services sell packages of dates for a finite period of time then if you don’t meet “the one” they try to re-sign you. They have multiple “matchmakers” actually salespeople throwing their clients together with whomever so they meet the number on the contract. None of the “matchmakers” knows every client in the service, only the handful that they brought in.
They provide very little if any information, no pictures and they decide who you will meet. Sound familiar? Read the reviews on the various review sites (not just Yelp). They consistently complain about not meeting the right people as set forth in their interview with the company “matchmaker”. Another reason they throw people together is because they pretty much accept anyone as a client, rather than filtering out people who don’t fit what their clientele has specified they are looking for. That’s what happens when you advertise…you get lots of calls from just anyone and their bottom line is their bottom line. It’s all about the money, overhead, office and paying their”matchmakers”/salespeople.
A LEGITIMATE matchmaker will give you all the time you need to find the right partner, be selective as to who they present to you and let YOU decide based on a myriad of information who you would like to meet. Bon Jour Matchmaking provides EVERY client with an open-ended contract giving them the time for the right person to come in who fits for them. A 6 page profile along with a minimum of 6 snapshots of each client. YOU decide who fits for you based on lots of information and input from a Matchmaker who has met and interviewed EVERY client.
So here are the questions you MUST ask before meeting with any service:
- How long have you been in business;
- Do you show clients profiles with pictures;
- Who makes the decision on the match;
- Is there anyone there who has interviewed every client;
- Why am I purchasing a specific number of “dates”, shouldn’t we zero in on the one;
- What qualifies your staff to be matchmakers;
- What am I paying for??????
- READ THEIR REVIEWS…especially the negative ones and see how consistent those are. That will give you a better idea of the service and it’s integrity.
Do NOT disclose your income or what you do for a living. Do NOT tell them you are wealthy…their fees are based on what they think they can get out of you. Everyone pays a different fee based on their perceived income.
In Bon Jour Matchmaking the one-time fee is based upon what I feel I can do for you. How many challenges you have that may hinder your success. The more challenges you have the lower the fee is.
If you like, after you’ve spoken with some services, whether you are interested in Bon Jour or not I will be happy to assist you to find the right service for you.
