THE VALUE OF BON JOUR IS NOT JUST YOUR GOAL

Michele "the Matchmaker" Fields's avatarBon Jour Matchmaking Service

There are so many valuable aspects to Bon Jour Matchmaking before and during your courtship with that special person.

They are listed throughout this site and if you’ve used other local services or even researched them these differences are glaringly obvious.

When considering any service it is a 50/50 proposition. As a client you should be realistic in that your participation, keeping info up-to-date, your feedback, your interaction with clients and YOUR choice in Bon Jour as to who you meet (and don’t meet) is heavily on your side of the equation. It’s NOT just about writing a check and then being a non-participant.

In Bon Jour you first and foremost have an open-ended contract. So far the longest I’ve worked with someone is 11 years and she did end up marrying a client at the end of that time. If it had taken longer for the right person to…

BON JOUR CLIENTS LOVE MY SELECTIVITY

Michele "the Matchmaker" Fields's avatarBon Jour Matchmaking Service

If you’ve read Google reviews of Bon Jour Matchmaking Service, you will see repeated references to my selection of clients.

I conduct FREE telephone consultations for at least an hour (often longer), unless we discover in short order that this is not the right service for you. The first thing I do is qualify that you fit what my current clientele is seeking. That gives both sides the opportunity for a successful outcome.

Then I address any questions you have from reading through this website.

I start evaluating a potential client from the very beginning, how they contact me, their follow through or lack thereof, their grammar, etc. For example, this last Saturday night at 8:30 I received a voicemail from a woman. She asked me to call her to explain Bon Jour. My business hours are 7 days a week, 9am to 7pm. So right there I see…

So right there I see she’s not complying with those. Regardless, I phoned her back and it rang and rang and rang then a message said she is on the other line but for $ .95 I could leave a message. NOT…so I decided to phone her back again first thing Sunday morning. I called 3 times and each time I got a recording saying something about it not going through the routers. I tried one more time and it rang and rang and rang and there was no option to leave a voicemail. So…that is not going to fly with my clients. I presume that she would have seen on her caller ID that I called 5 times, yet she never called back. If I can’t either reach this woman directly or even leave a message that will be frustrating for my clients! Prospects always tell me how frustrated they are with Apps and people not responding and ghosting them. So, this person is not a good prospect just based on that experience.

That is an example of what my clients appreciate. There are several other reasons I would decline to work with someone as you can see from other reviews of people who I felt would not fit in with the clientele or be a good client. They didn’t get that instead of lying and scamming them out of their money, I was honest with them!

Bon Jour Matchmaking is not about how much money I can make…it’s about how much success my clients have which starts with the right clientele!

WHO IS MICHELE THE MATCHMAKER FIELDS?

Born and raised in Wilmington, Delaware I moved to Denver in 1981. I had never been here, did not know anyone here and did not have a job. Just showed up bright eyed and bushy tailed…

For the first few years I had a variety of jobs but primarily was a legal secretary. Excited to be in this big city with so many options and people, I dated veraciously which in hindsight may have been my mistake. After 8 marriage proposals I never really met the “right” one for me…so I know that the “numbers game” is just that…a game not worth playing.

As a lifelong insomniac I realized that working specific hours was making it worse so decided to start my own business with my own hours. The only service then was GE and as a single myself looked at their structure which was overpriced and impersonal and decided…

After 8 marriage proposals I never really met the “right” one for me…so I know that the “numbers game” is just that…a game not worth playing.

As a lifelong insomniac I realized that working specific hours was making it worse so decided to start my own business with my own hours. The only service then was GE and as a single myself looked at their structure which was overpriced and impersonal and decided to do the total opposite thus creating my niche which has flourished since 1989!

During all this dating and working I volunteered as a rape crisis counselor for RAAP, a counselor for Safehouse for Battered Women and a bereavement counselor for a hospice. I also was involved in fundraising through golf tournaments such as the NFL Alumni Association and the Restaurant Association as well as I volunteered at Skyview Retirement Home for 6 years specifically for those who had no family support. Was even included in one of their weddings! I mentored several teenage girls whose family situations were unhealthy and unsafe.

I have a PhD. in dating and relationships from 40 years of doing so unlike someone who has been married for years and doesn’t know the landscape or the current dating apps and internet dating sites. I can totally relate to the frustrations, disappointments, excitement, anticipation and all that goes with trying to find your life partner. Thus allowing me to counsel, console and hand hold my clients during this process. Also to make sure that each match has the best chance by clarifying, correcting and sharing communication between clients so this delicate match has every chance of succeeding.

BEWARE OF A NEW DENVER MATCHMAKING SERVICE

Michele "the Matchmaker" Fields's avatarBon Jour Matchmaking Service

I had a guy phone me for my service. He left a message and I needed to call him back, but before doing so I decided to do a background check. Regardless of what I find on that I always call people back out of courtesy, even when I know I’m going to decline to work with them.

What I found on the background check, although several years ago, was Rape, Sodomy, public intoxication, DUIs. The first 2 had been dismissed, but that may mean he had a good attorney. Obviously, I was going to decline to work with him.

So we were talking and he has used Kelleher and Associates who he paid $29,000 to, who claimed to have clients in Denver but didn’t. Then he hired Tawkify for $9,000 for 1 year. They also did nothing. So, with each he kept telling me that he could have done…

MICHELE, WHAT IS YOUR SUCCESS RATE?

Many times when someone new calls for Bon Jour Matchmaking, they ask what my success rate is.

According to my clients who have reached their goals, the fact that I am very discriminating who I accept to work with; the open-ended contract and the multitude of information on each client explains why so many singles have been successful in addition to the coaching.

BUT, in my opinion, in addition to the above, 50% of a client’s success is up to them. If they decline potential matches, are very narrow in their criteria and preferences as well as do not follow my advice and continue making the same mistakes over and over, that will affect a client’s success.

So, it is a partnership and collaboration that make a client successful in Bon Jour. Really much like many other things in life, it takes both parties.

Then, when I declined him, he said that he is going to start his own matchmaking service in Denver and then he can write off those fees he paid the above services! WOW, I made the right decision not to work with him for many reasons!

I presume sometime in the next year this new service will present. Be careful, I don’t know whether he will run it or just be an investor as he is with many other businesses. But his background is very sketchy!

DO YOU WONDER WHAT COACHING I DO AND WHAT WILL CAUSE A PROFILE TO BE DROPPED?

Michele "the Matchmaker" Fields's avatarBon Jour Matchmaking Service

The email below clearly shows my coaching and a brand new client who hired me specifically for that, who clearly does not want a relationship either with me or my clients to be successful: (the names have been disguised to protect the innocent and that CLIENT)

Dear CLIENT,
I received the email above from K this morning. So…here is a list of all of the things you have, according to her that turned her off and put me off:

1. Sent the answers to the questions inside an email without the questions when told to attach it so it could be printed out and attached to your profile;
2. Sent the total opposite pictures of what I not only asked you to send, but showed you on the computer at the time of your interview. Got into a fight with me when I kept trying to explain what type of…

DIRECT AND HONEST or CHARISMATIC AND UNTRUSTWORTHY

Michele "the Matchmaker" Fields's avatarBon Jour Matchmaking Service

Which Do You Prefer?

Are you the type of person who falls for charm and charisma and lives to regret it?  Those charismatic charmers are often called scammers.  I have a relative who is very, very charismatic, however once he’s “got” you he’s like a snake and will bite you the minute you are off guard. Yes, they are wonderful to chat with but beware of doing business with them or getting romantically involved.

When you are doing business and making a financial investment whether it be with a financial advisor or a personal Matchmaker, is it more important to you that they have a “good bedside manner” even if they are not trustworthy?  There are many business owners like that in all categories of business who have left a trail of very pissed off people behind them.  In the long run the truth is the most important component regardless…
